Beautiful Ireland. John and Sue and Steve and I flew to Belfast to sample three of the magnificent Irish courses. We played Ballyliffin, Royal Port Steward and Royal County Down. Steve was still a bit sick, so did extremely well playing at all. We loved the Irish pubs, food, Guiness and hospitality. Weather was also pretty kind to us, considering all around us was extremely wet. We pretty much dodged all the storms.
John and Sue prepare to Tee off at Ballyliffin Golf Club.
Each hole was pretty daunting. These two look way too relaxed about the whole thing.
Nice shot, Darling!
2nd day's play is at Royal Port Stewart. Some clubhouse!
Sticky is feeling alot better and now able to walk with a buggy. John is ready to tee off and carve up the course.
Sue played all three courses very well, and shamed the rest of us. Who is that in the rough? When I say rough, I mean ROUGH. Very.
Here is Sticky sampling some of that grabby stuff.
Windswept and happy.
Our final destination. Royal County Down. Amazing hotel. We drove through teeming rain and sleet to get here, and suspected that the next day's play would be pretty nasty, given the weather forecast. However, the next morning (7.00am - gulp), we hit off and made 18 holes without getting wet. Pretty impressive really.
All in all, we had an amazing time. Thanks so much John and Sue for allowing us to join you...
