A Cruise Down the Yellow River

A brilliant cruise on the Yellow River reveals all the birdlife. Starting with Lisa and I.

Canada Geese are prolific here as are many many other bird varieties.
I know it is difficult to see, but that is a brolga in the distance.
Oh. And I forgot to mention. There are crocodiles too! (What a surprise)

The views were utterly stunning here.

Sunset at Ubir

This was a beautiful spot. A walk up onto the escarpment to watch the delightful sunset. There was a bit of smoke from the burn offs created by the Aborigines as part of their duty of looking after the land. It made the sunset even more interesting and beautiful. The photos below simply cannot do it justice.

The Sandstone Walk

The boys went fishing (and caught nothing), and Lisa and I did the Sandstone Walk. We were very brave about all the crocodiles and snakes in the wild and followed the track faithfully.

Bad Boys Fishing

Everybody knows that you don't fish near the water's edge in Kakadu. Everybody except Sticky and Ian who decided that no crocs would ever get them. Luckily for them, they were proved right. Even though they pushed their luck, dropped a $3.00 lure in the water and tried every trick in the book to retrieve it.

Bush Walking with Ian and Lisa

A lovely photo of our friends Ian and Lisa. We decided to visit the "Bird Billabong". It was an experience.

Whilst walking along, we were entertained by the wildlife.
A very large and scary bird was hiding in the tree.
Commonly known as "The Trailer Trash Bird"...
Much walking and wingeing led us to this delightful billabong. Well worth the effort.
