Horizontal Falls ... Exhilaration Itself

The Horizontal Falls from the air.

It was stunning!

Our Pilot, Mackenzie, was super-skilled ... textbook landing on the water.

The gap at Horizontal Falls is 7 meters wide... hard to imagine we would actually fit through there!  Plus the water was over 1 meter higher - pouring through the gap at a humungous rate.  Adrenalyn was pumping.

We could see the amazing islands of the Archipelago beneath us.

On the return trip, Steve got to be co-pilot once again!

Osprey or Eagle?

Osprey or Eagle?  Hard to tell.  The nest has been there for over 12 years, apparently.

Not sure... the nest is HUGE and has been there for over 12 years...

It's called Fishing ... Not "catching"

Sticky did catch a fish, but didn't bring it home for dinner.

Sticky and Lucy deciding WHERE the fish are...

I can watch the proceedings from the camp site...

Unfortunately ... No Fish for Dinner

Free Camp at Little Panton River

A cracker of a spot to stay overnight.

Wyndham... Five River Confluence

We had had a lovely surprise when we visited Wyndham... the town history and 5 Rivers Look-out was amazing

Parry's Lagoon "Resort"

Not what I would call a resort, with powered caravan spots with no shade and in a dust bowl, but ok for one night and the lagoon was good.

Bungle Bungles Day Trip

Oh, MY! What a trip! So glad we made the investment to take the flight to the Bungle Bungles, walk to Cathedral Gorge and experience the amazingness of the Bungle Bungles

Our amazing pilot talked us through the flight -

Flying over Lake Argyle and the Diamond Mines, and the Ord River System.

Sticky got to be co-pilot on the flight out.

The Bungle Bungles were, until the 1980s, a well kept secret by the Aboriginal peoples.

Cathedral Gorge was our lunch spot.  We had a superb guide, Wally, who told us about the bush tucker; the medicinal trees and shrubs and the spiritual nature of the Bungle Bungles

Guess who got to be co-pilot on the way home???

Lake Argyle

A couple of nights at Lake Argyle - exporing the area, taking a 4wd drive, and relazing.

Lake Argyle was beautiful and restful. The Infinity Pool was feezing. Apparently!
