The Dog Line

These gentle fellas were bred to stop the convicts escaping from Port Arthur. Nice doggie!

Port Arthur

Hurry Up, Says Sticky... Let's get on with the tour.

His first question to the tour guide - (Tony, pictured here) was "So they had a cricket pitch in the convict days?"

The ruins of the church ... apparently every religion was allowed services here. Except the Catholics. No one liked the Catholics. Even the Convicts.
The above photo is the ruin of the old hospital. the lighter coloured wall is where the flagellations happened. The whole community had to come out and watch the cat 'o' nine tails being administered. The poor naughty person was revived if he/she passed out whilst being whipped.
And that's the asylum. Right next to the solitary confinement prison.
They carried out the worst kind of psychological torture here. Including the panoptic gaze. Maggie knows all about this, so you can ask her about it.
Port Arthur from the water. The day's entry includes a boat trip. So you can check out the Isle of the Dead where everyone was buried. Of course the more well-to-do were buried above those naughty convicts and paupers.

This piano was in the Commandants house and was built to the same specifications and Beethoven's piano.

Lets walk to the Church!
Very airy.
Finally got him down the aisle!

Extraordinary garden. Just beautiful.

Sticky at the flagellation wall.
Me trying out the old toilet system.

Tessellated Pavements and Caves and Things

A quick tour of the Tasman Peninsular was very informative. Have you ever heard of a Tessellated Pavement? Well, we will check out the Tasman Arch first... A pretty phenomena. Kinda like a cave, only not apparently.
Looks pretty cool, eh?

We took a drive along the wonderful coastline
And saw the tessellated pavement. Naturally formed by sediment and other things (got sick of reading interpretive signs at this stage).
More pretty coastline...
then to the Remarkable Cave
Naughty Sticky, climbed over the protective fencing and risked life and limb for this photo.

We Are Being Chased By Indians!

Check these out! Everywhere we go, we come across these Fastest Indians.
Check out the passenger chair
